Five Below, Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, and local volunteers unite to deliver 12 pallets of toys to Toys for Tots, helping children in need.
WILMINGTON, DE, UNITED STATES, October 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Holy Child Knights of Columbus Council #12190 helped coordinate a major toy donation from Five Below to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program in Dover, Delaware. The charitable effort brought together local businesses, organizations, and community volunteers to help brighten the upcoming holiday season for children in need.
The effort began when Five Below found itself with a surplus of toys at its Pedricktown, New Jersey, warehouse. Rather than let the inventory go unused, the company sought opportunities to donate the toys to organizations that could put them into the hands of children in need.
Brandon Savko, a representative from Five Below, initially contacted Samantha Healey-Smith at the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware to see if the organization could use the toys or knew of another organization that could benefit. Samantha then reached out to Matt Doyle, a member of Holy Child Knights of Columbus Council #12190, to see if the Council would be interested in helping coordinate the donation.
Matt Doyle brought the opportunity to his fellow Knights, and Council member Frank Drammissi immediately stepped forward to help. Frank worked directly with Five Below and the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program in Dover to coordinate transportation and delivery of the donated toys.
On May 29, 2026, Frank Drammissi rented a U-Haul truck and traveled to the Five Below warehouse in Pedricktown, where 12 full pallets of toys were loaded for delivery. He then transported the donation to the Toys for Tots warehouse in Dover, where the toys could help brighten the Christmas season for children in need.
Matt Doyle, who is also President of Wilmington-based digital marketing agency Advertising is Simple, recognized another opportunity to extend the donation’s reach. He contacted one of the agency’s clients, Collett & Sons, Inc. Industrial Services, to see if they would be interested in participating. The company welcomed the opportunity and was happy to help distribute toys to children in need.
What began as a generous offer from Five Below quickly grew into an inspiring example of community collaboration, with businesses, charitable organizations, and volunteers coming together to make a difference.
Holy Child Knights of Columbus Council #12190 extends its sincere appreciation to Five Below for its generous donation, Brandon and Samantha for making the initial connection, Frank Drammissi for coordinating the Toys for Tots delivery, and everyone who contributed to the charitable effort.
Through the generosity of Five Below and the efforts of everyone involved, this community partnership will help bring joy to children and families while demonstrating the positive impact that comes from working together.
